    Great device with good performance

    Foreword
To be honest, I didn't have any great expectations of the device and was pleasantly surprised. I replaced my HP Omen (17"), which is now 4 years old, with this Legion. The comparison with such a piece of furniture
couldn't be more stark. I'm not talking about the performance, because that is logically not comparable with current technology. I'm talking much more about the entire workmanship and design of the device. The Omen is a gaming notebook as it was built 15 years ago, big and clunky. The Legion goes more in the direction of Razer, which has a completely different feel with its aluminium body.

I use the device mainly for rendering static 3D images (DAZ3D) and occasionally for gaming. For me, the device is an absolute winner because it covers all my needs. I haven't played Cyberpunk 2077 with it yet, but with the performance, it comes close to the performance of my two-year-old desktop with an RTX3090 when it comes to Flight Simulator. The fast processor and the fast-as-an-arrow RAM harmonise perfectly with the already fast graphics card. As for the memory, it should be mentioned that two 1024GB (Samsung MZVL21T0HCLR-00BL2) are installed and not even 2 TB as can be read in the description at Digitec.

I would buy the device again at any time, but I am not sure if I would be willing to pay the 3'799CHF (as of the rating at Digitec) for the notebook. I bought the device directly from Lenovo at the end of March for 2'399CHF and find this a reasonable price. I was very surprised at the massive price difference (and yes it is exactly the same device).

    • Useful software from Lenovo (for fan settings etc.)
    • Passable battery life (when not playing 😅)

    Contra

    Price range

I bought this item for the original high price of 3.5k. Unfortunately, right when I bought it, the price dropped by 700 the next day. This is highly annoying and I should have done more research to the price changes.
