We are travelling to Cologne for the world's biggest gaming trade fair. From there, we'll be reporting on the most spectacular blockbusters and the most unusual indie games. Do you have any input on what we should be looking at? Then let us know!

Over 1200 exhibitors on around 230,000 square metres are waiting to be explored at this year's Gamescom. Even though the four of us are travelling to the world's largest games trade fair for the first time, we will only get to see a fraction of them. We, that's Domagoj Belancic and I from the editorial team as well as Fabian Stieger and Davide Arizzoli from the social media team. Over the next few days, we'll be reporting on digitec.ch, Instagram and Youtube about the most exciting games that will be released in the coming weeks, months or years.

Planned are video contributions, articles and a Gamescom-focussed episode of the A Tech Affair podcast. We expect to record the latter on Thursday evening. That's why it will only appear in your podcast feed on Friday. Our colleagues from Zurich will summarise the highlights of the Opening Night Live event for you.

In addition to the well-known big players such as Microsoft, Nintendo and Ubisoft, countless medium-sized and smaller game studios are also taking part. We have already made appointments with some of them. However, many exciting games can only be discovered on site. Do you have any tips or wishes for what we should definitely see at Gamescom? Write it in the comments column and we'll try to fulfil your wish.

As a child, I wasn't allowed to have any consoles. It was only with the arrival of the family's 486 PC that the magical world of gaming opened up to me. Today, I'm overcompensating accordingly. Only a lack of time and money prevents me from trying out every game there is and decorating my shelf with rare retro consoles.
