Apple’s Vision Pro just isn’t visionary
by Samuel Buchmann
Headsets that want to change the world, photo theft that is legitimised and powerbanks that send our Community into raptures. These are just some of the topics that have moved the editorial team this week.
Apple has unveiled its mysterious Vision Pro headset. However, the augmented or virtual reality glasses don't particularly impress our Apple guru Samuel Buchmann. This is not only due to the 3500 francs price tag or the design, which resembles a pair of ski goggles. Although the device is technically impressive, it is not the promised revolution. Apple boss Tim Cook could go on inventing new terms like "spatial computer" for a long time, it would remain an AR headset.
A property company steals a picture and is convicted by the federal court. The only problem is that the compensation is a paltry 55 francs. A scandal not only for the complaining photographer, but also for our own photographer David Lee. He criticises the fact that this lowers the inhibition threshold for image theft even further.
Chris Hemsworth appears invulnerable as Thor, but this is not the case for the actor. In an interview, he admits that "Thor: Love and Thunder" was probably a little too silly. The majority of the audience probably agrees. Hemsworth was particularly hit by criticism from Hollywood legends Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, as Luca Fontana writes in his background article.
DDR not only stands for Double Data Rate in RAM components, but also for a small country called the German Democratic Republic. This country produced its own computers in the 1980s. Kevin Hofer explains what the so-called small computers were all about and how they were used in one of his history lessons.
David Lee, the old Heimlifeisser, used an ancient (20-year-old) camera to take pictures for his articles. Nobody noticed. This shows that the supposedly discarded Nikon D70 still takes decent pictures today. David has also learnt to appreciate how much more convenient modern cameras are. Read his article to find out whether he will continue to use the D70 in the future.
The E3 gaming trade fair is history. This does not mean that there will be no more live events in June - on the contrary. Numerous livestreams will take place over several weeks under the umbrella of the "Summer Game Fest". One of the biggest is the "Summer Game Fest Showcase". In two hours, there were plenty of new trailers and announcements to watch. I have summarised the highlights for you in the following article.
A power bank for over 200 francs. Who buys that? A lot of Digitec customers, as Lorenz Keller found out. He immediately tried out why the device is so popular. In addition to the high performance, he was particularly impressed by the ability to find out how fast his USB cables can charge. [[marketingpage:27953]]

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
