Two new APS-C lenses from Sony

Sony is finally expanding its range of APS-C lenses. The SEL-1655G is a fast standard zoom and the SEL-70350G is a telephoto zoom.
The SEL-1655G has a focal length of 16-55 mm with a constant aperture of 2.8. Adjusted for sensor crop, this is 24-82.5 mm. The SEL-70350G has a focal length of 70-350 mm and an aperture of 4.5-6.3, which equates to 105-525 mm sensor crop-adjusted.

According to the manufacturer, the lens is suitable for landscape photography, portraits and snapshots. Thanks to two aspherical elements, the lens is said to correct deviations and therefore also offer outstanding resolution right up to the edge of the image. According to Sony, three extra-low dispersion glass elements also minimise chromatic aberrations and colour bleeding. Thanks to the circular aperture, soft bokeh should be possible. The lens weighs 494 grams.

According to Sony, the lens is suitable for nature and landscape photography. An aspherical element and three extra-low dispersion glass elements should also ensure image quality right up to the edge of the image in the telephoto zoom. An optical image stabiliser (Steady Shot) is integrated. The lens weighs 625 grams.
Both lenses have an AF/MF focus selector switch, which ensures fast switching between auto and manual focus. The lenses should be available from October.
