Games coming out in March
Which game are you most looking forward to?

Horse simulators, muddy zombie adventures and overambitious open-world RPGs are itching to gobble up your free time this March.
Ten years ago, Tom Clancy’s The Division gave us the most beautiful winter weather of all time. But even the most stubborn snowflakes of the season will melt in the wake of this month’s hottest game releases.
The eleventh expansion of this long-running MMO will see the launch of a much-requested feature: house building. Yep, you’ll finally be able to design your own home. There are also two new zones, Voidstorm and Harandar. Plus, the Alliance’s range of races has been expanded with the Haranir. You can also look forward to new dungeons more closely aligned with the WoW Classic principle. Instead of offering quick fun, they’ll reportedly be more complex, keeping parties busy for several evenings.

In the same year that Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novel series was made into a film, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game appeared as its perfect 2D beat-’em-up companion. Sixteen years later, another edition’s following it up in the same style. Once again, you can expect fantastic pixel graphics and a groovy electro soundtrack by Anamanguchi. Scott and six other characters are fighting their way through a new story penned by O’Malley.
When: 3 March
Where: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch 1, Switch 2¹
Multiplayer: co-op, local and online
Playing as a Mongolian courier rider in the 13th century, you explore a vast wilderness and forge a bond with your horse. You breed and train these speedy creatures, with great importance attached to authenticity along the way. Swiss horse game expert Alice Ruppert actually had a hand in the game too. You may remember her from our Red Dead Redemption 2 event.

Where: PC (early access)

Following Halo and Destiny, Bungie’s tried its hand at remaking its own game. However, this extraction shooter has little in common with the original first-person shooter made for the Macintosh in 1994. After a modest alpha, the launch was postponed. That extra time has obviously been put to good use. The feedback expressed during the most recent playtests sounded more positive. Let’s see if the finished game’s good enough to topple Arc Raiders from its throne.
When: 5 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Multiplayer: online PvP and PvE
The journey of Lana and her cuddly companion continues. This puzzle-based adventure sends you into a picturesque 2D sci-fi world requiring a mix of dexterity and brain power.
When: 5 March
Where: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch 1, Switch 2

The iconic roguelite deckbuilder is back. Once again, the aim of the game is to climb the spire and put together powerful card combinations. But you’ll need the right strategy to master the new challenges. Even in early access, many people will probably be killing all their free time with this game.
When: 5 March
Where: PC (early access)

My colleague Domagoj describes it as a mixture of Minecraft and Animal Crossing. If you’re someone who values their free time, that sounds like a ruinous combination. The game involves building settlements to attract and collect new Pokémon.
When: 5 March
Where: Switch 2
Multiplayer: online
Pocketpair, the company behind Palworld, is financing this Hollow Knight rival. On the graphics front, Metroidvania-roguelite hybrid looks brilliant as a result of its hand-drawn animations. The remarkable thing about the game is that you can enjoy it with four players. I’d have appreciated that level of reinforcement on a number of occasions playing Hollow Knight: Silksong.
When: 5 March
Where: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch 1, Switch 2¹
Multiplayer: co-op for up to four people
In this simulator, you manage logistics at a huge cargo port. Our editorial team in Hamburg (especially port and container expert Kim) is particularly stoked for this game to come out. If you’ve always fancied operating giant container cranes or heavy-duty tugs, then check out Docked.
When: 5 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Multiplayer: no
Hurray, hurray, Pumuckl’s back! Hurray, hurray, Pumuckl’s here! Alright, that’s maybe a little too much enthusiasm for this kid’s game. The game’s protagonist is a kobold (a goblin from German folklore) with curly red hair, who’s drawn into a magical pirate world by a ship in a bottle. A 3D puzzle adventure awaits him there. Although the game’s aimed at a younger audience, it still has plenty of fans – if the most recent carnival celebrations are anything to go by, anyway.
When: 5 March
Where: PC, Switch 1, Switch 2
Multiplayer: no
I’m always up for a pretty hidden-object game. Lost & Found Co. looks magical. You play a duck that’s been transformed into a human to help a goddess’s company find lost items. How could you say no to that?
When: 6 March
Where: PC
Multiplayer: no
Like its predecessor, Ghost of Yotei’s getting a free multiplayer expansion. In Legends, four people can choose one of four classes, then hunt down demonic bosses. Unlike the main game, Legends has a supernatural component. There are story missions for two ghosts too.
When: 10 March
Where: PS5
Multiplayer: online PvP and co-op for up to four people
Fight your way through the zombie apocalypse alone or, better still, with three buddies. Vehicles that allow you to navigate more safely through the muddy, inhospitable world take centre stage. It’s reminiscent of Left 4 Dead, but with a big dollop of 80s John Carpenter horror cinema.
When: 12 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Multiplayer: online co-op for up to four people
This city-building game featuring inventive beavers was in early access for a whole five years. Now, the time for version 1.0 has finally arrived. Humanity has turned the world into an arid wasteland and destroyed itself in the process. Some clever beavers have adapted to these new circumstances and developed into a major industrial power – or rather, they’re developing into one. After all, you’re in charge of making that happen. If you’re into construction games with survival elements, this’ll be up your street.
When: 12 March (already available in early access)
Where: PC

After almost two years in early access, version 1.0 of this role-playing game’s on the verge of being released. The fantasy world is inspired by seventeenth-century Europe. Taking charge of your own destiny, you decide whether to take a combative or diplomatic approach. As you explore the continent, you’ll find eight allies you can use to build your team.
When: 12 March (already available in early access)

This survival horror game was released 23 years ago for the PS2. The remake has revamped everything from the graphics to the audio. Key locations such as the village of Minakami have been meticulously recreated.

Calling all fans of pen-and-paper games such as Baldur’s Gate: you’ll soon have new RPG fodder in the form of Solasta 2. Just like Larian’s exceptional hit, the game promises an epic saga. You explore a huge world alongside a group of adventurers and write your own story. The battles are turn-based.
When: 12 March

While the games in this wrestling series are usually disappointing, they’re hard to avoid because of the lack of available alternatives. Still, with over 400 athletes to choose from, there’s not much to complain about. Will 2026 be a good year for wrestling? You’ll soon be able to see for yourself.
When: 12 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2
Multiplayer: PvP and co-op, online and local
Unlike in Monster Hunter Wilds, this JRPG involves turn-based, not real-time fights. The story plays a more important role in this game too. Plus, the monsters aren’t just your enemies. When my colleague Kevin tried the game, he loved it.
When: 13 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2
Multiplayer: no
Nakaba Suzuki’s manga series is one of the most successful of all time. Although I’m completely unfamiliar with the manga, the upcoming free-to-play game still looks like an epic fantasy RPG. In the role of Prince Tristan, you save the wondrous world of Britannia from destruction.
When 16 March
Where: PC, PS5, available on iOS and Android from 23 March
Multiplayer: online PvP and co-op
No, I didn’t add the trailer for the 20-year-old film adaptation by mistake. Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! has a deliberately retro aesthetic, and the gameplay’s based on first-person shooters from the turn of the millennium. There are also wonderfully trashy cutscenes, with actor Casper Van Dien even making a comeback as Johnny Rico.
When 16 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2
Multiplayer: no
This South Korean, open-world action RPG looks ambitious. The world, which you traverse on a dragon’s back or in a mech cockpit, looks gigantic. It’s all geared towards exploration and combat. The latter completely overwhelmed me and many other players during a demo at last year’s Gamescom. I’m excited to see howthe full version of the game has turned out.
When: 19 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Multiplayer: no
After just over half a year of PS5 exclusivity, the PC community can now enjoy Hideo Kojima’s sci-fi courier adventure too. In addition to higher frame rates and resolutions, the game supports super-ultrawide monitors. There are also new game modes (including for PS5). You don’t seem to need a PSN account this time.
When 19 March
Where: PC, PS5 (already available)
Multiplayer: passive only
Arc System Works, the studio primarily known for the Guilty Gear series, has ventured into the realm of twin-stick shooters. In this game, you play a demon king who’s unable to part with a human child. It’s up to the two of you to break a curse. In co-op mode, a second person can join the game as a demon dog.
When 25 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2
Multiplayer: local co-op for two people
In this anime-style arcade racing game, five teams battle it out to win the Screamer Tournament. Soldiers, scientists, criminals, superstars and unscrupulous business people promise variety in terms of vehicles and driving styles. Rather than relying on your driving skills alone, you need to switch between boost, strike and shield mechanics to defend your position in races.
When 26 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Multiplayer: PvP, online and local
Although the previous game, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, ended in a pretty dumb way, I have to know how Max Caulfield’s story continues. Her friend Chloe Price from the very first game returns to help Max prevent a deadly inferno.
When 26 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2
Multiplayer: no
This is a football management game with a twist. Rather than choosing the right line-ups or training programmes, you’ve got to organise matches for top clubs. From catering to entertainment to fan safety, the success of each match day’s in your hands.
When: 26 March
Where: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

In a parallel universe in the year 1910, you’re a citizen of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, steering gigantic, four-legged fighting machines through the desert. These trampers serve as a mobile base for you and your team as you explore the desertified planet Sophie in search of riches.

As a child, I wasn't allowed to have any consoles. It was only with the arrival of the family's 486 PC that the magical world of gaming opened up to me. Today, I'm overcompensating accordingly. Only a lack of time and money prevents me from trying out every game there is and decorating my shelf with rare retro consoles.
