"Stranger Things": Netflix announces new animated series

Stranger Things is far from over: Netflix's most successful franchise is getting an animated series - in the style of Saturday morning cartoons.
"Stranger Things" continues as an animated series. This was announced by the American streaming giant Netflix via its in-house online magazine Tudum. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer are producing the new project via their studio Upside Down Pictures. Eric Robles from Flying Bark Productions will direct the animated series.
The Stranger Cinematic Universe is growing
What exactly the animated series will look like is not yet known. Just as little as a release date. However, Robles is known for more child-orientated animated series such as "Random! Cartoons", "Fanboy & Chum Chum" and "Glitch Techs". This fits with the Duffer brothers' statement: "We've always dreamed of 'Stranger Things' in the style of the Saturday morning cartoons we grew up with. To see this dream realised is fantastic."
If it were up to those responsible at Netflix, the mystery thriller series with the 1980s vibe would never end anyway, even if the main story surrounding Eleven comes to an end after the upcoming fifth season. Accordingly, spin-off series projects and even a stage show are already in the pipeline, which will be set in Hawkins in 1959 and tell the prequel story. The world premiere is due to take place in London's West End (London's Broadway) later this year. <p

I'm an outdoorsy guy and enjoy sports that push me to the limit – now that’s what I call comfort zone! But I'm also about curling up in an armchair with books about ugly intrigue and sinister kingkillers. Being an avid cinema-goer, I’ve been known to rave about film scores for hours on end. I’ve always wanted to say: «I am Groot.»
