Recap of the thrilling big Rainbow Six Siege final at Digitec’s Playground Cup

The Digitec Playground Cup Vol. 13 final was packed with nerve-wracking Rainbow Six Siege matches at the highest level. Here’s an overview of all the results.

Four teams made it to the offline final of Digitec’s Playground Cup Vol. 13. In the third place playoff, the runners-up from the qualifiers played each other – Evil bEARS vs. International Lelleks. The final saw the winning teams from the qualifiers – mYinsanity vs. 15th Law of Power – battle for victory at the thirteenth Playground Cup.

The final was broadcast on Twitch and YouTube with commentary by shooter expert Andi Game TV and Rainbow Six Siege expert Gardalus. You can watch the entire broadcast in full length here. The third-place playoff starts at 25:42 and the final starts at 4:43:33.

Close decision for third place

Playing for third and fourth place, the match between Evil bEARS and International Lelleks was very close. It was played in a best of three.

The first game on the Kafe map was fiercely contested. After a strong start by International Lelleks, Evil bEARS staged a comeback and won four rounds in a row. With a strong last round, International Lelleks managed to take it into overtime, where they finally won the map and took the 1-0 lead.

The second game was played on the Chalet map. After a strong start by International Lelleks, Evil bEARS fought back and won a few rounds. However, Lelleks proved nerves of steel and were able to successfully fend off the Bears’ comeback – and avoid overtime. The team secured the 2-0 win and took third place. Their opponents finished in fourth place.

In a post-game interview, International Lelleks player Shelduck was relieved. «As a team that hasn’t been together for long, we’re still collecting experience. We’re very happy to have won. It was super close.»

Preparation won the big final

In the final, MYinsanity played 15th Law of Power for the overall Playground Cup win. The teams had already met in the qualifiers, with 15th Law of Power coming out on top in a close match. The final was also played in a best of three.

Both teams were confident in the pre-match interview. 15th Law of Power player HollowWhite revealed his team had prepared very thoroughly for the final match and invested a lot of time in training. According to player Neox3005, mYinsanity relied on the strength of their individual players and on «vibes» instead and didn’t do any specific prep work.

The first match was an open exchange of blows that ended in overtime. Dramatic scenes unfolded in the final seconds, leaving both the players and the casters shocked. In the very last seconds, 15th Law of Power secured victory and took the 1-0 lead.

On the second map, mYinsanity struggled to get into the game. Nevertheless, they managed to win a few rounds. But 15th Law of Power proved mental strength and won with a final score of 2-0.

In a post-match interview, HollowWhite from 15th Law of Power revealed why his team’s especially happy: «I’m proud as hell of our team. We had a massive argument last Saturday and almost didn’t make it to the final. But we were able to resolve our conflicts and deserved to win.»

Neox3005 from mYinsanity said after the defeat: «They deserved to win, they were better prepared. Some of us were a bit sick still. We came here to have fun – and we had plenty of fun.»

The winning team 15th Law of Power could choose between two options, the second-placed team mYinsanity took away the other prizes.
