Santa’s bringing AirPods, hairdryers and Lego sets

The search behaviour of digitec and Galaxus customers is a good indicator of what’s going under Christmas trees this year. The most popular items are AirPods and Apple iPhones, Dyson hairdryers, Bose headphones and Lego sets.

14 days to go until Christmas. Digitec and Galaxus already know what will be popped under Christmas trees in Switzerland this year. That’s because the customers of Switzerland’s largest online retailer have a revealing search behaviour.

In strong demand this year are AirPods: These wireless headphones from Apple are in the top spot when it comes to search requests on both digitec and Galaxus. And it’s not surprising. After all, Apple launched the second generation of their headphones just in time for Christmas. So brace yourself for even more white buds sticking out of ears in Switzerland come January.

In second place at digitec are iPhones by Apple. The iPhone 11 and XR models are extremely popular. In second place at online store Galaxus is Dyson: it looks like many a Supersonic hairdryer and Airwrap hairstyler will be doubling up as Xmas gifts this year.

Bose and Lego secured third place on the winners' podium at digitec and Galaxus, respectively. The Bose brand, similarly to Apple, is very much in demand when it comes to headphones. Leading the popularity contest are the models 700 and QuietComfort 35 II. Meanwhile, many children and the young at heart are looking forward to getting a Lego set. This year, the trend is towards an Aston Martin DB5 model and a large roller coaster.
