RTX-40-Super: Nvidia presents these graphics cards next week

Nvidia will be presenting new graphics cards at CES on 8 January. It is an open secret that these are the RTX 4080 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4070 Super. The specifications and release dates are also largely known.
Nvidia announces the upcoming launch of new GPUs with an updated cover image on X. The outline of a graphics card can be seen in front of the globe and the rising sun. In all likelihood, this is an example of the refresh of the RTX-40 series. Cards of this refresh carry the suffix "Super".
Three super cards
According to various rumours, Nvidia will be presenting three models at CES on 8 January:
- RTX 4080 Super
- RTX 4070 Ti Super
- RTX 4070 Super
The three new cards are to be released in stages. The RTX 4070 Super on 17 January, the RTX 4070 Ti Super on 24 January and the RTX 4080 Super on 31 January. The RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti will continue to be available. The RTX 4070, on the other hand, is to be discontinued. According to the rumours, the main changes to the new models are in the number of computing cores and the memory.
What the super cards should offer
The RTX 4080 Super will not have more memory than the RTX 4080, but it will have faster memory: Instead of 22.4, it is 23 gigabits per second, an increase of 2.7 per cent. There is also a change in the clock frequency. This should be 2295 megahertz (MHz) for the base clock and 2550 megahertz (MHz) for the boost clock. The non-super versions achieve 2205 and 2505 MHz respectively.
The RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4070 Super, on the other hand, will only receive a boost in the base clock. However, the increase in computing cores will be higher than the largest model and the RTX 4070 Ti Super will have 4 gigabytes more memory. Where the RTX 4080 Super gets just over five per cent more computing cores, the RTX 4070 Ti Super gets ten per cent more and the RTX 4070 Super gets over 20 per cent more. This is in comparison to their non-Super versions.
The TDP will only change for the RTX 4070 Super. It should be 220 watts instead of 200 watts. Here is an overview of all suspected specs and a comparison with the non-Super versions. As always with leaks, the information should be treated with caution.
The prices of the cards have not yet been finalised. If the RTX 4070 Super does indeed replace the non-Super version, it is likely to be similar in price to its predecessor. The other two Super cards are expected to be more expensive than their non-Super counterparts.
