Ring: How to protect your home

created on 14.11.2018

Winter is popular – with burglars. They make use of the early dusk to sneak into flats and houses without beeing seen. But there's a way to protect yourself.

Ring is a brand that offers classic security cameras and video doorbells. Video doorbells notify you when someone rings the door bell of your home.

Doorbell 1 and Dorbell 2

If you want to keep an eye on your entrance and be able to send uninvited guests away from the comfort of your smartphone, Video Doorbell 1 or Doorbell 2 are for you. These two devices differ in resolution, wide-angle capacity and battery: Doorbell 2 offers 1080p resolution, 140° wide-angle video and a quick-release rechargeable battery. Doorbell 1 comes with 720p resolution, 160° wide-angle video and a built-in battery. On top of this, both are equipped with motion detectors with adjustable zones, allow you to communicate with visitors from anywhere you are via smartphone and record live video at any time.

Spotlight Cam and Floodlight Cam

If you don't want to monitor your entrance but other parts of your home, Ring also offers classic security cameras. The Spotlight Cam is a plug-in security camera with LED spotlights and siren. It offers 1080p video recording, 140° wide angle and night vision. In addition, an optional solar panel allows you to operate the camera without needing power supply. For emergencies, a second battery compartment is available. However, this camera isn't suitable for non-stop use.

Ring's Floodlight Cam protects your home with two built-in floodlights. All other features are identical to the Spotlight Cam. Both Spotlight and Floodlight Cam are equipped with a motion detector that allows you to create customised motion zones. What's more, they both feature two-way audio and siren alarm.
