Playstation Plus: Project Spartacus is said to be close to release

Currently, Sony does not have a valid alternative to Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass, which can also be used on the PC. This is supposed to change with Project Spartacus, which is supposed to offer gamers a similar offer in three stages. Read more about this in the following.

Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass is a cost-effective alternative to buying games and can be used on both the PC and Xbox consoles. Players can choose from many current titles and classic games and pay a monthly fee, regardless of which games and how much they have played. Last December, it was revealed that Sony was also working on a relaunch of Playstation Plus, dubbed "Project Spartacus," to rival Game Pass and should be ready in the spring.
New reports now suggest that the service is indeed close to launch. Jeff Grubb from Venture Beat has published the first information about the structure and content of the service. According to his knowledge, there will be three levels: Essential, Extra and Premium, which will cost 10, 13 and 16 US dollars per month. The Essential entry level is said to be comparable to the previous Playstation Plus, which is the prerequisite for online gaming and also offers a few free games for one's library each month. The Extra tier offers all that plus a game catalog of about 300 titles that can be downloaded and played at any time. Grubb speculates that these are the games that could previously be accessed via PS Now.
At the premium level, players should also have access to classic games and cloud gaming. According to Bloomberg, classic games are mainly games for PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP. Sony has not yet released any official information about the new subscription model, but that should change soon, according to Grubb.
