Now available in stock: Samsung's TV line-up with micro RGB televisions
The new micro RGB technology will make the leap out of its niche in 2026 and will be available in standard display sizes for the home sector for the first time.
The current 2026 TV line-up from Samsung is now available. In addition to OLED, QLED and mini-LED televisions, the South Koreans are now offering micro-RGB sets in standard sizes for home use for the first time. The new LCD technology caused a stir last year but was only introduced for a gigantic 115-inch display and at five-digit prices.
According to the manufacturer, TVs with micro RGB technology fully cover the modern 4K colour space BT-2020 and therefore ensure high colour fidelity. Unlike OLED displays, there is no risk of permanent burn-in of the image.
Micro RGB televisions
We have two micro RGB models in our range: the high-end model R95H and the R85H. The R95H is the technically fully equipped flagship model with better image processing, a higher frame rate and glare-free coating. The R85H offers the same micro RGB basis as a more affordable variant, but does without some premium features.
The R95H is available in 65, 75 and 85 inches.
Instead of the HDR tone mapping «HDR10+» and the AI image processor «Micro RGB AI Engine» for AI upscaling (AI-controlled upscaling to 4K) as in the R85H, the R95H offers the higher-quality versions «HDR10+ Advanced» and «Micro RGB AI Engine Pro». The glare-free coating is designed to reduce reflections and ensure that you can see the R95H's image better in dark scenes in bright rooms.
The R95H is also the better choice for gaming: it repeats the image at 165 hertz instead of 144 hertz. This ensures a smoother image display during fast movements, for example in first-person shooters or racing games.
The R85H is available in 65 and 75 inch screen diagonals. The 55 and 85-inch sizes will be available from stock in our warehouse later in June.
Other features of both devices include a Pantone-certified colour display, Dolby Atmos and various AI functions which, according to Samsung, improve the image display even for content with a lower resolution.
Thanks to Samsung Vision AI voice support, you can converse in natural language with AI assistants such as Copilot and Bixby. They display videos and images on the screen to match their answers. Live translations and generated subtitles for the displayed content are also possible with Vision AI.
The AI Sound Controller analyses the video sound in real time and separates voices and sound effects. This allows you to make the dialogue louder by voice command to make it easier to understand.
OLED and LCD televisions
Samsung has also further developed the TV series with already established display technologies. You can find the new devices in the overview below. My colleague Luca categorised some of the TVs announced at the beginning of the year
Technically, the new televisions are equipped with faster processors, which should provide more precise colour reproduction and better motion sharpness.
OLED devices
An OLED TV is best for you if you like to watch films and series in dark rooms. It is worth mentioning that the mid-range S90H model now also has a glare-free surface. This was previously reserved for upper-class devices.
LCD devices
In addition to micro RGB, LCD televisions also include NeoQLED and mini LED devices. The technologies differ in the way the backlight is generated and the dimming zones are calculated.
