The Google Pixel 9a is positioned in the mid-range with solid features and long software support.
Are you looking for a new mobile phone in the mid-range price segment? Then the Pixel 9a from Google could be just the thing for you. Let me introduce it to you in more detail. By the way, there's a special offer on the purchase of one of the smartphones until 11 May. You can find more information here.
The Pixel 9a measures 154.7 × 73.3 × 8.9 millimetres and weighs 185.9 grams. It has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 × 2424 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 hertz. The housing is made of plastic. For the first time in the A-series, the device is protected against water and dust in accordance with IP68. The camera unit on the back is almost flush with the housing.
Seven years of updates
The Google Tensor G4 processor works inside, supported by eight gigabytes of RAM. The device runs Android 15 and receives software and security updates for seven years. The internal memory is 128 or 256 gigabytes, depending on the model. A microSD card slot is not available.
The main camera offers 48 megapixels with optical image stabilisation, supplemented by a 13 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The front camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels. The camera features include a night mode, portrait mode and macro focus. Thanks to AI-supported functions such as «Best Take» and «Add Me», you can optimise group photos afterwards.
The battery has a capacity of 5100 mAh and supports wired charging with up to 23 watts and wireless charging with up to 7.5 watts. According to the manufacturer, the battery life is up to 30 hours. A full charge takes around one hour.
