Computers for business use must meet higher security and data protection requirements than personal devices. Surface for Business computers can be managed centrally. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed instead of Windows 11 Home. They also have longer support cycles and are designed for on-device AI processing.
The form factor is the most obvious distinguishing feature between the Surface Laptop and the Surface Pro. Surface Laptops are classic work computers that are particularly well suited to writing and multitasking.
In contrast, Surface Pro models are designed as 2-in-1 devices. They are 13-inch tablets with a touchscreen and optional pen control, which you can also use as a laptop with a separately available keyboard. A Surface Pro is the better choice if you do a lot of drawing or take notes. It is lighter and more versatile when you’re on the move.
As is usual with Surface devices, there are numerous versions available with different storage capacities and processors. You can choose between silver and black. To keep this article clear and concise, you’ll only see a few example models here. You can configure your preferred device in the product view.
Surface Pro devices for Business are currently available with «Intel Core Ultra 5 335» processors. For the Surface Laptop for Business, there are also models featuring the high-end «Intel Core X7 368H» processor. From mid-July, devices with the «Intel Core Ultra 7 366H» processor will be added to both ranges.
The «Core Ultra 5» is suitable for standard Office applications. With an «Core Ultra 7», your device can handle intensive multitasking more effectively and process images and videos more quickly. The «Core X7» is the most powerful processor of the three. It offers a more powerful graphics unit and the highest overall performance.
All three processors are equipped with an AI processing core (NPU) capable of delivering up to 47 («Core Ultra 5») and up to 50 («Core Ultra 7» and «Core Ultra X7») TOPS.
The 13-inch display has a resolution of 2880 × 1920 pixels, which corresponds to a pixel density of 267 PPI. Without the keyboard, the device weighs 895 grammes. According to Microsoft, battery life of up to 17 hours is possible. The 1440p front-facing camera features an ultra-wide-angle lens, whilst the rear camera has a resolution of ten megapixels. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, as well as two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt technology, provide connectivity.
