New functions for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
Adobe has added various tools to the new beta versions of Premiere Pro, After Effects and Frame.io. Among other things, filler words can be automatically removed from audio files.
Adobe is adding a number of functions to its video and audio software. They are available immediately in the beta version and should find their way into the full versions this autumn.
Premiere Pro
In addition to improving voice quality, Adobe Premiere Pro now also allows you to automatically remove filler words and better assign colour tones. The timeline for editing and cropping is also said to be up to five times faster.
Audio: speech enhancement and automatic categorisation
Poor audio quality is sometimes difficult to correct. Poorly placed microphones, background noise or source material from a dusty archive may be to blame.
With "Enhance Speech", background noise is automatically removed and dialogue should sound as if it was recorded in a studio, according to Adobe. With a slider, you can also include as much of the background noise as you like.
There is also a new "Audio Category Tagging" feature. This divides video sequences into dialogue, music, sound effects and ambient sounds. If you select an audio clip, various tools for quality improvement are displayed.
The two functions can be found in the "Essential Sound" control panel. They also run in parallel in the background while you can continue working undisturbed.
Text-based editing
Text-based editing has been available in Premiere Pro since the beginning of the year. It recognises filler words such as "er" and "hmm" and cuts them out. Filler words, pauses and unwanted dialogue can be removed using the delete function.
You can find the function in the transcription window during text-based editing.
Many minor adjustments
Many things have been requested by the Community and have now been implemented.
For example, the latest version of Premiere Pro is said to have a five times faster timeline. This makes cuts and other edits faster. Automatic project recovery also supports seamless continuation of work in the event of problems. The automatic tone value assignment has been improved and now includes three new tone value assignment methods. You will also find new project templates, an effect to include metadata and customised export options.
After Effects
Adobe also has some exciting functions in store for the After Effect animation software. According to Adobe, objects can be removed faster and more precisely via rotoscoping and a new 3D workspace integrates 3D models including realistic light and shadow play.

After Effects has been given a 3D workspace. 3D models can be imported into the software here. Models are realistically staged using image-based lighting. It is also possible to combine 2D and 3D in a composition.
Roto brush
Some objects are difficult to separate. For example, hair or transparent parts. With a new AI model in the Roto brush tool, this should now be easier. Adobe wants to banish hours of rotoscoping to the past.
Frame.io
Frame.io helps creative professionals to share their projects and gather feedback. New functions are designed to make this even easier.
"Comparison Viewer": better comparison of projects
The review and approval tool has been updated. Here you can work on different content and compare it with each other.
The comparison tool (Comparison Viewer) now supports the parallel display of video, audio, photo and PDF files. This allows Frame.io and Creative Cloud users to compare different file types. Comments and annotations can also be made. This makes it easy to exchange different files or multiple versions of an idea.

"Camera To Cloud" - further connections
With the "Camera To Cloud" function, films and photographs can be sent directly from the camera to the cloud if the camera has a WLAN module. The function is supported by over 200 camera systems and is now being expanded to include more. In addition to new systems from Atomos and Fujifilm, Accsoon is now also on the compatibility list.
