Modder builds Game Boy from walnut wood - and provides instructions on how to do it yourself
The Game Boy is iconic. Its shape and colour scheme are instantly recognisable. But modder Sebastian Staaks wants something fresh and has milled a new housing from walnut wood.
Sebastian Staacks is known for his YouTube channel and the website of the same name "there oughta be". He presents his works there. His latest creation: a Game Boy case made from walnut wood. He came up with the idea after he had already made cartridges out of wood. His followers wanted more. And that's what Sebastian now offers with the Game Boy - complete with instructions on how to make it yourself.
Staacks not only creates the housing with his CNC milling machine. He also replaces the directional pad and buttons. While he's at it, he also installs a new IPS display. His colleague Martin did the same with his Game Boy Color /page/the-perfect-game-boy-display-blackberry-ips-lcd-for-the-color-console-15887.

I'm a fan of Sebastian's project. I also love the fusion of technology and wood. I've already built a PC case myself.use modded with wood or a keyboard milled. Sebastian's project really makes me want to mill something again. I still have an old Game Gear lying around...
