Microsoft announces better tablet taskbar for Windows 11

Everyone with a Windows tablet can rejoice: Microsoft announces that it will improve the taskbar. It will also be hidden automatically in tablet mode.
In the Windows blog, Microsoft announces that the Windows 11 taskbar will soon become more tablet-friendly. It will fold automatically to free up more space. It will only show important information like time, date or network and battery status. When unfolded - by swiping upwards - everything becomes larger than usual.

The tablet taskbar looks clearer with the hidden app icons, search, widgets and start button. The new feature automatically hides the previous taskbar as soon as a 2-in-1 device is used as a tablet. This way, Microsoft wants to eliminate the problem of accidentally tapping the taskbar when the device is held at the bottom.
In addition to the taskbar, Microsoft will also soon overhaul how widgets work in Windows 11, and some new emojis are also supposed to be coming. As always, these new Windows 11 features are being tested and still optimized. It is not yet known when they will come to our devices.

Testing devices and gadgets is my thing. Some experiments lead to interesting insights, others to demolished phones. I’m hooked on series and can’t imagine life without Netflix. In summer, you’ll find me soaking up the sun by the lake or at a music festival.
