Background information
Born to break? Of fragile models and night tests
by Martin Jud
In January 2018, HP implemented a voluntary global replacement and recall programme. This programme is currently being extended to certain laptop and mobile workstation batteries that present a risk of overheating and fire.
HP is asking customers to re-check their batteries, even if they have done these checks previously and the batteries have been reported as unaffected. This extension does not apply to you if you have already received a replacement battery as a result of HP's January 2018 battery recall programme.
The following products may have been shipped with incriminated batteries:
ProBook: HP ProBook 64x G2 and G3, HP ProBook 65x G2 and G3, HP ProBook 4xx G4 (430, 440, 450, 455 and 470)
ZBook: HP ZBook 17 G3 and G4, HP ZBook Studio G3
x360: HP x360 310 G2
Pavilion: HP Pavilion x360
ENVY: HP ENVY M6
HP 11: HP 11 Notebook PC
The following products are compatible with, but were not shipped with, the offending batteries. The affected batteries affected by this recall may have been sold to you as an accessory or spare part by a service provider:
ProBook: HP ProBook 4xx G5 (430, 440, 450, 455, 470)
ZBook: HP ZBook Studio G4
