"Postal 4": The most primitive game ever will be continued
by Philipp Rüegg
Simulators are our speciality. And because we need our next fix, there is hardly anything more suitable than the "Drug Dealer Simulator".
Having only seen five or six episodes of Breaking Bad, I feel a little unprepared. Luckily, Simon accompanies me on our virtual drug trip. With his scowl and narrowed eyes, he already looks like a drug kingpin. That's exactly the aim of "Drug Dealer Simulator".
The PC game puts you in a fictitious ghetto where you deal your way up from street dealer to Jack White, er, I mean Walter White. I told you, I'm still in the first season of Breaking Bad.
You start your career by selling weed and speed in your neighbourhood. You receive the goods from your middleman, who in turn is in contact with the cartel. You process orders via the pseudo dark web called Shady Comm. Customers contact you via this and you in turn can order new drugs there. These are then delivered in a dead drop. For all the non-crack dealers out there: This is a delivery stash such as a fan shaft or a pile of old car tyres.
You then divide the substance into smaller bags at your workplace. Depending on the quantities ordered by the customer. You can also make the drugs yourself and stretch them. But make sure you don't mix in too much baking powder, as your customers won't like it. Later on, you can also hire people to sell the stuff for you or take care of enemy gangs.
The more drugs you sell, the better your position with the cartel and the higher your dealer rank. With each new level, you can invest a few points in negotiation skills, stealth or stamina. You need the last two to escape the police. They patrol regularly and are only too happy to frisk little crooks like you. If you run away and they catch up with you, you'll feel the taser. The drugs are then gone and you lose valuable time.
You see, "Drug Dealer Simulator" is serious business. The graphics look like Anno "GTA 3" or "Postal 2" and even all the drugs in the world don't make them any prettier. The game also reminds me a little of the 1999 first-person shooter "Kingpin". But "Drug Dealer Simulator" really isn't about shooting or marvelling at the beautiful scenery. What looks like a completely stupid game at first glance offers more depth than expected. But maybe I'm just passively befuddled by all the drug use going on in front of me.

This is how we stream:
Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
