Gamescom takes place again on site

After two years, the biggest game show in the world returns in physical form.
In 2019, 370,000 gamers streamed through the exhibition halls of Gamescom in Cologne. It was the last time for two years due to Corona. Now the world's largest game fair is back - with a new protection concept and more climate-friendly.
From August 24 to 28, visitors will once again be able to flock to Cologne, play the latest games in the huge premises, dress up and buy lots of merch. The kick-off event, Opening Night Live, will take place online. The last years were moderated by industry leader Geoff Keighley. In each case, numerous trailers were shown and new games were unveiled.

New is the concept gamescom goes green. With this, the organizer wants to make Gamescom climate neutral in the long term. The measures include free public transport tickets, carbon offsetting through support for climate protection projects, and donation opportunities for exhibitors and visitors.
Currently, only exhibitors can register, the rest will have to wait a little longer.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
