Finish him! Shooting begins on the new "Mortal Kombat" film

Another Mortal Kombat film. This time a remake. Filming has apparently already begun. Here's everything we already know about this bloody brawler.
The fact that a new "Mortal Kombat" is coming out is no longer a secret. On 5 March 2021, Liu Kang, Scorpion and co are set to do battle. Nevertheless, Mortal Kombat fans are rejoicing in the following Tweet:

What does this tweet mean? Filming has begun.
Mortal Kombat Reboot: what we know
The tweet above was written by Greg Russo. The director will be up-and-coming director Simon McQuoid. He will be supported by "Saw" and "Aquaman" director James Wan as
executive producer.
Besides the fact that this is a reboot of the Mortal Kombat series, virtually nothing is known about its content. However, we can hardly expect the film to take paths other than the model offered by the games: a group of warriors will take part in a tournament to save the Earth. Among them are Liu Kang, Sonya Blade and the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung.

We know this because the following casting has already been established:
- Ludi Lin as Liu Kang
- Jessica McNamee: Sonya Blade
- Chin Han: Shang Tsung
- Hiroyuki Sanada: Scorpion
- Josh Lawson: Kano
- Joe Taslim: Sub-Zero
- Tadanobu Asano: Raiden
- Mehcad Brooks as Jax
- Sisi Stringer as Melina
Actor Lewis Tan is also on board. However, his role is not yet known to the games. Somewhere between dozens of tweets and messages, I think I [read the name "Cole Turner"(https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-05-14-it-looks-like-the-mortal-kombat-movie-reboot-is-actually-happening). Cole, described as a Philadelphia boxer recruited by a prophet to compete in the deadly tournament, is expected to be the focus of the reboot.
Here's what said Lewis Tan on Twitter:
Lots of casualties and countless « almost» led me here. Brutal, relentless and beautiful all at the same time. Every inch gained by the sweat of my brow. I wouldn't have it any other way. I've been preparing for this all my life, and I won't let you down. Round One... fight !
One more thing. Writer Russo confirms that the film should be rated R (restricted). So the iconic "Fatalities" will be part of the reboot. In his words:
In that sense: Finish him!"
