We join the "Strange Brigade" and take on a 4000-year-old witch queen. In the 1930s, she sends her hordes of supernatural monsters after us. At 1 pm, you can watch us send giant scorpions and the undead back to their mouldy graves.

A group of adventurers, a bunch of mythological monsters and plenty of action. "Strange Brigade" plays a bit like an "Indiana Jones" film. However, here a whole group of loud-mouthed treasure hunters fight for the limelight. The fantastic adventures are also accompanied by a chatty narrator. Silly jokes, a 1930s monster setting and colourful action? That's exactly our thing.

You can choose between five characters.
You can choose between five characters.

In "Strange Brigade" you explore various beautifully designed areas in search of hidden treasures. There is also a shallow story, but you can safely ignore it. Although the (currently) five characters (one is available as free DLC for a short time) certainly have their charm. In the relatively straightforward levels, you'll encounter heaps of curious monsters. No problem for the ladies and gentlemen of the "Strange Brigade". With various shooting irons and deadly traps, you mow down the monsters like there's no tomorrow.

Gold, Goooooold

If you keep your eyes open, you will discover treasure chests or small puzzles from time to time. You can use the gold you collect to unlock and upgrade new weapons at the end of each mission. The characters have different strengths and weaknesses, and each one also carries a medallion that can trigger a special attack. This can also be upgraded during the course of the game.

The missions are entertaining and extremely fun, especially with up to three other players. They are not really challenging, but the graphics and setting are convincing across the board. The whole thing is accompanied by a British narrator who comments on your every action. Even if you go to the menu - you can also reduce his stream of words there.

In addition to the campaign, there is also a Hord mode and Time Trails. Interested? Then take a look at Simon and I's Let's Play, where we show the monsters where the hammer hangs.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
