"Diablo IV: We descend into hell

The time has come. The eternal conflict between heaven and hell continues. Samuel Buchmann and I throw ourselves between the fronts. Our "Diablo IV" livestream starts at 15:30.
Tristram, a nondescript town in the middle of nowhere. Apart from a few cows, an inn and a crotchety village elder, there is nothing here. That all changes when a terrible horror rises from the old cathedral and abducts villagers in the middle of the night. What turns out to be a portal to hell marks the starting point of an epic battle between good and evil in 1997 - led by the Lord of Terror Diablo himself.
Nearly 30 years later, the war is still raging. In "Diablo IV" it is Lilith, the daughter of the Prince of Hell Mephisto, who thirsts for power over the world of Sanctuary. Naturally, the heroes must prevent this from happening. There are five classes to choose from: barbarian, sorcerer, druid, hunter and necromancer. There are also five regions to explore. The world is so big that you can now even travel on horseback.

We're not there yet - or at least I'm not. If you get the more expensive Deluxe Edition, you can start playing on 2 June instead of 6 June. Our colleague Samuel Buchmann couldn't resist the temptation and has been monster-slaughtering since midnight. His eyes will be just as bloodshot as those of the fiendish hordes we will be facing from 15:30. Together, we will find out whether the latest instalment can build on the success of its predecessors or whether a manipulative slot machine with a battle pass is hiding behind the sinister facade.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
