Could the rumours be true? Will a 16-inch Macbook come out this autumn?

Macbook's are growing. A device with a 16-inch screen is reportedly to be revealed this autumn. At least, that's what supply chains from Foxconn and Quanta are hinting at?
The rumours seem to be confirmed: Apple will introduce a Macbook with a 16-inch screen this fall. The Economic Daily, a Chinese newspaper, believes to have proof to these claims.
Chinese journalist Xie Aili has taken a closer look at Quanta and Foxconn, a.k.a. Hon Hai. Companies with a proven track record in building Apple products. A look at their supply chain reveals a lot.
High resolutions, high prices
The 16-inch Macbook will probably be the most expensive Macbook to date and will be launched under the Macbook Pro banner. Xie Aili writes that the price should be over 90,000 Taiwanese dollars, i.e. over 2850 francs. Since the highest price tag in the current series of Macbook Pros is around 3000 francs, it can be assumed that the larger device will be even more ludicrous in cost. It's clear who Apple's targeting: professionals.
However, the new specs are where the real interesting details lie. It's known that installed screens provide a resolution of 3072 × 1920 pixels. Apple relies on LCD technology for their screens and not on OLEDs. For this purpose, up to 32 GB of RAM should be installed. The controversial Butterfly keyboard – it being rather susceptible to hardware damage – is to be replaced by one with scissor switches. The new keyboard will be manufactured by Sunrex.
A September delivery date
Xie Aili claims to have heard from the supply chain that the finished devices will be delivered to Apple in September. This suggests that the new Macbook will be presented at the iPhone event next September.
Apple itself is keeping a low profile as usual and didn't comment on the rumours. Nevertheless, news from a supply chain can usually be believed more than the opinions of individuals on the Internet. Foxconn and Quanta have to manufacture the hardware and aren't particularly keen on keeping products in stock for a long time.
Currently the biggest Macbook is 15.4 inches across. The question that enthusiasts are asking themselves: can a 16-incher replace the 15?
