«Call of Duty Vanguard»: new launch, old setting, fresh «Warzone» map

The next «Call of Duty» will be released on 5 November and will once again send you into a global war. What else is new? A zombie mode and a new «Warzone» map.
Sledgehammer has taken the lead, once again, among the numerous studios working on «Call of Duty». As in their last instalment, «Call of Duty: WWII», «Vanguard» will also be set during the Second World War. In the single-player campaign, you alternate between the roles of a British, an American, an Australian, and a Soviet soldier. You'll live through the most famous of all wars from four perspectives and several locations, such as North Africa, the Pacific, the Eastern Front and the Western Front.
During Wednesday's presentation, Sledgehammer, which is part of Activision Blizzard, addressed the ongoing court case. The company is facing strong allegations of widespread sexual assault against female employees. Sledgehammer CEO Aaron Halon made it clear that «harassment of any kind goes against everything we stand for as a studio» and that they are «committed to making sure all team members feel safe, welcome, and respected».
Most ambitious «Warzone» map to date
Besides the campaign, Treyarch is working on a Zombies mode, which will be linked to the story of the zombie mode from «Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War». Raven Software is responsible for the integration of «Warzone». The popular standalone will boast a completely new map based on the setting of «Vanguard». It’s said to be the largest and most ambitious map to date.
The classic multiplayer mode is also available and is said to offer 20 maps at launch, as well as a new mode called Champion Hill, which is supposed to be a combination of Gun Fight and Battle Royale.
«Call of Duty Vanguard» will be released on 5 November 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
