Many people are talking about boycotting US products, but hardly anyone is actually doing it. Despite Trump hammering Europe with tariffs, consumers on the continent are continuing to buy products from across the pond – perhaps out of habit, lack of knowledge or loyalty to their favourite brands. Sales data published by Galaxus and Digitec reveals as much.

From water to El Tony mate to Coca-Cola, an increasing number of customers are ordering drinks online. In 2024, Galaxus sold more than twice as many non-alcoholic beverages as in the previous year. And the sharp upward trend is ongoing in 2025.

So long, lugging! Buying beverages online is booming

Galaxus celebrated the topping-out ceremony of its second warehouse in Neuenburg am Rhein, Baden last week. Covering over 60,000 square metres, the building is twice the size of Munich’s Allianz Arena. The company is recruiting 1,000 new employees for the site.
