Corsair Memory Inc. was founded in 1994 in the USA and specialises in high-performance memory (meanwhile Corsair also produces memory modules in the lower price segment under the product name ValueSelect). The memory modules are particularly popular with computer gamers and overclockers because they can be operated (reliably) beyond the memory standards.

Corsair offers memory with speeds at the upper limit of each spectrum. The modules of the XMS series were the first with a heat sink on the chips – to enable overclocking of the chips beyond the specifications of the chip manufacturers. With the ValueSelect series, Corsair is represented in the market segment of lower-priced standard memories. Corsair also manufactures power supplies, water coolers, enclosures, SSDs, USB sticks, headsets and speakers.
