Question about QNAP TS-251D-4G

The QNAP TS-251D has an HDMI output. Can I start and play a movie directly from the hard drive? How well does it work? I also want to move away from my Lightroom subscription (1TB, photo) to a NAS - any good recommendations here? Thanks and greetings

As far as I know, the HDMI output is intended for connecting a monitor/TV device. Since a media server is installed on the NAS, it is possible to stream media stored on the built-in hard drives. However, I do not have any experience with this. I have integrated the NAS into my home network and can therefore stream the data (music, films, photos) stored on the NAS to all connected playback media (TVs, radios, smartphones and tablets) without any problems.
