Does the Roomba e5158 record the completed areas on the map (app)?
Hello RamH
Thank you for your interest and your question. Roomba e5 can be controlled via the app. So you can start or stop cleaning your robots at any time, even when you are not at home. It navigates by means of the iAdapt 1.0 navigation, which does not seem logical to us at first. However, using this navigation, the robot vacuum follows a triangular pattern and reacts to objects in your home and then changes direction. With the e5, however, you won't be able to see what has been effectively cleaned.
For this, we would recommend the Roomba i3, which allows you to see where it has been and what has been cleaned at the end of the cleaning process. If you have any further questions or uncertainties, please feel free to contact us directly. You can reach us by phone at +41 62 746 06 74 or by email at service@irobotics.ch.
Best regards,
Your iRobot Team
Not in real time, VSLAM robots usually never can. The expensive iRobots use VSLAM for navigation (not laser LIDAR, which creates maps in real time) and this E5158 is not even equipped with VSLAM. It cleans according to the chaos principle. It drives around everywhere, as soon as it hits something, it turns around and drives in another direction.
For a truly ingenious robot hoover experience, I recommend the Xiaomi Dreame D9. It has a laser navigation system that creates maps in real time and you can always see where the robot is currently travelling. In addition, there is a wiping tank with 290 ml of water that can be attached under the robot, which can be used for wet wiping and vacuuming at the same time. The price is top, the quality is also right and this Xiaomi Dreame D9 has the quality of an almost twice as expensive Roborock S5 Max. Perfect laser navigation, online maps and much more :) and it costs less than the e5158 vacuum.
