The UPD-203 is a very good Blue-Ray player up to and including Ultra HD (4K). The device does not have a built-in amplifier for controlling speakers. You need a separate amplifier for that. However, you can play Bluerays and watch them on the TV via the HDMI input of the TV. The sound then comes out of the TV, provided it has speakers.

I do not understand the question. The unit does not emit sound directly. Where is the TV sound supposed to go then ?
