The above is correct. The receiver picks up any IR signals, no matter from which IR remote control. It then sends the exact same signal (copy) through the small additional transmitters (thus useful for universal remote controls that are to control several devices via IR, which are also out of sight). If the device itself, e.g. TV, has problems receiving an IR signal, this will not work.

The One for All Ir Remote Extender is a pure IR link, i.e. it transmits the exact same signal several times inside the cabinet that it receives with the receiving eye outside.
