What about subtitles? Are they selectable or does the player take them automatically if they are in the same folder?

The Minix is, after all, an Android minicomputer, and so you can basically do everything you can do with any other Android device. Depending on which player you use (I, for example, use the well-known VLC player instead of XBMC), the subtitles will be handled one way or the other.
Coooooooooool I love VLC more than anything, so all fears are no matter and gone.
You can switch the subtitles on or off in the XBMC (Kodi) player. This is no problem.
However, it should be noted that the sound passthrough works perfectly with XBMC. However, this is not yet the case with the newer Kodi version. A small drop of bitterness, as otherwise a good device, even if it is a little fiddly at the beginning.
