Question about Onkyo TX-NR696

The brand lives on and the warranty will certainly continue. I would take out the extended warranty to 5 years when I buy it, because the receiver is a very good model and if that were to be the case, Digitec would step in. As far as firmware updates are concerned, that is of course impossible to judge at the moment, and neither are spare parts, but as I said, it is a very good receiver and with an extended warranty you are very well covered. The company is not bankrupt, but in insolvency. That doesn't mean the end, it just means that debt will be rescheduled and, of course, costs will be reduced, which is certainly part of Onkyo's plan.
