This remote control was bought as a replacement for the IR6 remote control of the Panasonic HD recorder DMR-BCT735. The Panasonic TV (also remote controllable with IR6) works wonderfully with it, the HD recorder doesn't falter.... ???

Sorry, I can't answer that. I have only had experience with the TV.
