The LaCie 8big Rack Thunderbolt 48TB has 2 TB ports. Is it possible to connect 2 Macs directly to it (one TB port each)?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. There is no host for this in the 8Big (nor in the others). TB ports are daisy-chained but cannot address 2 separate Macs.
