The coolant is not R290 as stated but R134A.
According to the sticker on the unit, at least on my unit it is R134a refrigerant.
Since 1 January 2022, it has been prohibited in the EU to place commercially used refrigerators and freezers with the refrigerant R134a on the market. Mind you: commercially!
By 2025, other products, such as stationary refrigeration systems or mono-split air conditioners, with particularly climate-damaging F-gases will be gradually withdrawn from the market.
A replacement would be propane or R290, for example. This is a natural fluid that can be used as a refrigerant in household refrigerators or commercial refrigeration equipment. Due to its low global warming potential, it has little environmental impact.
However, I can't answer why the description says a different gas than the one you have in the appliance. As long as you dispose of the appliance properly in the end, it shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise, you can certainly have the gas changed by a specialist.
Hello, no idea, it cools and serves its purpose. Greetings olbi
