Quick question I am now testing the FRITZ!Box 6850 5G, as I am not sure if my new Predator x5 has a defect or is just bad (massively unstable ping ingame). Now it's like this, although it's connected to a 4G band and 5G network, according to the netlist it only uses 2 4G networks with 98% and 2%. I also download on steam only with 4mbs which would also speak for a 4G. Is there anywhere I can set it to prioritise the 5G network?

Sure, ping levels are inaccurate in-game, but massive ping fluctuations should not be due to a server. Especially from 16-32-120-256ms. With my phone hotspot I have with 4G, only, but stable 46ms at most times a little over 60ms.

I have now tried everything possible to force the 5G. I now know everything about frequency bands, where the nearest 4G/5G antennas are etc.. Also that the Acer support is very bad. Swisscom tech support was extremely friendly but says the 5G is being used according to their system, but that almost can't be. Also that the 200 Mbts (bits) is very high, which my 4G also manages and the FritzBox says 1400Mbit/s should come in from the 5G antenna which is connected but not used.
The FritzBox network list clearly shows connected but in use ( - ), the Network Cell Info Lite app also only shows 4G in use. The download is almost exactly the same as with the 4G hotspot.

Tomorrow I will contact AVM support and test the other side of the house. Unfortunately, it's quite far away from the room, but it can be reliably measured via mobile phone, but it's unfavourable for the desktop connection.

Otherwise there's nothing left to do but send them both back and then use a repeater for the Lan transmitters. It's just difficult with Twitch streaming, performance-wise.

I would try to flush the DNS. Bandwidth affects internet speed, but usually not the response time (ping). You should use ookla speedtest to determine your ping, as this will give you a better overview than doing it via a game, as some of them have poorly connected servers. For example. Steam downloads are not that good either but definitely better than 4 mbs. For example, I have an internet speed of about 300 mbs down and in Steam only about 160 mbs.
