Question about Panasonic DP-UB154
Question, what all do I need to be able to use this player to watch the inserted media on a computer MONITOR? Connection: HDMI Monitor: Samsung LC34J791 34" curved, Operating test: directly from the player to the monitor Problems: a) no sound, although the monitor has built-in speakers. b) the picture is projected onto the width of the monitor, i.e. a lot of the picture is cut off at the top and bottom c) remote control offers no options for picture + sound

a.) Maybe the monitor cannot decode the audio signal. You could try setting the audio signal on the player to stereo and deactivating fancy codecs such as Dolby Audio etc.
b.) Settings on the player or monitor should be able to fix this.
If all else fails, I would try connecting an AV receiver in between, if you have one lying around.

I would ask Panasonic customer service, you are hardly the first to have such a problem!
