Question about Devolo dLAN 1200+
Our Fritzbox 3790 modem/router is on the second floor. Two floors further up is the attic, where we would like to receive Smart TV via wifi. Is that possible with this Devolo? It's a 100-year-old house, it has electricity in the attic, but I don't know if there's an electrical connection between the whole house. Is that a possibility? Or would a Gigagate Wlan from Devolo be better? Thanks
We even connected the Devolo dlan 1200+ to the garage because of the PV system and it worked, but as my predecessor said here, you have to try it out where and at which socket you have the best throughput. There are sockets that are in the same room but give completely different throughput values. With Gigagate, it depends on other factors. 5GHZ does not mean a longer range and it depends on your ceiling. Sorry that there is no clear yes or no in your case. Unfortunately, you have to try it out.
I used the Devolo dlan 1200+ to move the internet connection from the basement to the ground floor, diagonally through the house, and now I have perfect Wi-Fi there. Supposedly it should also work across phases, just give it a try, I'm satisfied.
