Zyxel G.Fast XMG3927 without WLAN
My Sunrise connection is being switched. I have received a DSL receiver and the Ethernet Connect Box 3: Problem: The WLAN cannot be switched off on the router. But I want to decide when WLAN is on and when it is off? Can I replace this router with one that allows me to switch off WLAN? I need at least 3 LAN ports and 2 telephone connections. Does this even work with a freely chosen router or does it have to come from Sunrise? Thanks for any further tips
I think this question should be asked directly on the Sunrise forum.
Personally, I don't use their services, so I don't know their devices or their connections.
What is important to know is the speed of your connection and the protocol used, which will already allow you to filter the modem models available on the market. I haven't found a list of compatible models like Swisscom keeps up to date either. So once you have all the information about your Internet connection, and as long as no-one else has tried it, it's up to you to try out modems until you find a compatible one. Some protocols can only work with their routers (e.g. 10Gbps).
It may be possible to ask to change your box model, they should surely have an alternative available.
Good luck to you!
