Question about Netatmo Outdoor module

My outdoor module lasts max. 3-4 days in winter at cold temperatures and max. 1 week in summer. And that's with high-quality batteries. Does anyone else have this problem or does it seem to be an isolated case and a problem with the module?

I have commented on this problem here before. The problem is neither with the battery nor with the current demand of the unit, but with contact corrosion. This causes an increasing contact resistance, so that the terminal voltage drops and is quickly no longer sufficient for signal processing. Measures: 1) Keep the unit dry, even if it is an 'outdoor station'. Recently, Netatmo also offers a rain-protective housing. 2) If you dare - open the device and clean the contacts with a cotton stick soaked in contact spray; then rub dry with the clean end of the cotton stick. Maintain the battery terminals in the same way. Constructively, the cause lies in the shabby gold-plating of the contact surface on the electronic print. If the damage is advanced, the only solution is to buy a new one (possibly under guarantee).

Hello,
Fortunately I don't have this problem, and my module is 6-8 years old. The batteries last about 1 year. I change them before winter. The distance between the station and the module is about 10 meters. I hope to have been able to inform you.

My outdoor module always causes problems. Even with new batteries it is not recognised by the central module!

After a few years of use, I observed the same problem. Problem solved by buying a new module!

Hello,
You need to see what the refresh rate of the values is in the application and the distance to the station. If it's still the case when you put it in next to the station it's either a defect or end of life. My 7-8 year old module ended its life like this. I resigned myself to buying a new one and no more worries.

This seems to me to be an isolated case. In our module, the batteries last >1 year. The distance to the indoor module is about 2m.
