Question about Aeotec Range Extender Zi (Zigbee)
My Home Assistant (Nabu Casa Yellow) is in the living room, in the basement I have 2x E27 socket with 2x TRADFRI bulbs each. Where is the best place to plug in this Zigbee Extender? In the basement, hallway or living room?
I would also say somewhere in the middle. But it's difficult to say, as it also depends heavily on the layout of the rooms and the condition of the walls and ceilings.
Ultimately, you just have to try it out, as the signal strength is displayed in the Home Assistant. And ZigBee forms a mesh network, so there may well be other devices in the home that are more suitable than the Home Assistant box itself

I have a similar situation. RaspberryPi in the basement and various elements on the upper floor. I have positioned the extender in between. Works tiptop
