I have also experienced this. When asked, I was told that this has to do with the dollar exchange rate, demand and market behaviour. To be honest, I'm not too happy with the answer either, the dollar exchange rate doesn't move, demand certainly doesn't rise like that in an hour. Well, I don't know and can only hope that people are not being fooled.
