Robot vacuum
It's a mystery to me why Roomba's still have cameras installed. The competition does it with radar, which is worlds better and more accurate. So much for "is the only vacuum robot that can clean certain rooms with a schedule by name" in the description. Others can do that too. To cut a long story short, I was disappointed with iRobot compared to what the competition can do for the same price of the i7158. And at least I don't have to feel weird when my hoover is doing the bathroom and I walk in all dirty.
Hello Gm5star
Both navigation technologies have advantages and disadvantages.
Certain competitors work with lidar navigation. This is a laser technology. Both navigations achieve the same result, namely a structured and complete navigation. However, unlike our Vslam technology, the laser technology recognises a curtain or hanging paint as an obstacle.
And even if you're all wet in the bathroom, Roomba won't be bothered by it - it won't recognise it at all.
The iAdapt® camera is used to map your home to ensure complete coverage. It does not record video or images, nor can video or images be shared with iRobot or third parties.
