Is the simultaneous use of UniFi access points of different hardware generations (e.g. UAP-AC-Pro and UAP-AC-HD) in the same WLAN network possible and useful? In particular, do features such as automatic device configuration, fast roaming and zero handoff work?
I am aware that the same data throughput is not possible everywhere. But it doesn't have to be; my idea is that I install 1 or 2 UAP-AC-HDs in places where, for example, streaming takes place and supplement them with cheaper UAP-AC-Pros in "remote" places (where a network connection is simply necessary but doesn't have to be "high-end").
Does it make more sense that way?
Do you mean something else by "you must have the config under control"? I hope the controller makes the config the same everywhere, regardless of the device model.
Possible, yes, but sensible? Then you need to have the config under control. Imagine you want to stream 2x 4k or so, but your tablet connects on the Pro instead of HD...
