Yes, you can buy the doorbell without the Chime 2 but I don't know if the two doorbells can be connected to the same Chime 2. You'll need to look at the instructions or ask Hombli directly.
Personally, I've connected the doorbell to Goggle Home without any problems, and I think it's possible to connect several of them. (Like surveillance cameras)
