I think it's more important that you save the settings of the 7490 so that setting up a new box is easier. Because even the Fritz Box doesn't last forever. Just wait until January if you do want to buy one, then there might be a special offer or an announcement for an even better, newer device.

The advantage would certainly be WiFi6, the 7490 is a good box but is already getting old. I would have a look around on Black Friday ....
