Garmin Oregon 700
Garmin Oregon 700
Is it true that the Oregon 700 does not come with a battery? If so, where can I get one, because I haven't found it in the accessories.
Yes, this is correct according to the manufacturer's specifications:
Batteries: 2 AA batteries (not included); NiMH rechargeable or lithium batteries recommended, NiMH rechargeable battery pack (optional).
For example, the following product:
Ansmann Mignon AA (rechargeable battery, AA, 2850mAh, 2pcs)
Or the (overpriced) battery pack from Garmin:
Garmin NIMH battery pack

Can I also mount this device on bicycle handlebars and use it as a bicycle navigator? Can it warn you e.g. by pipston before you have to turn?
Thank you very much for your answers.
Rechargeable batteries in packs of four are available every 2 months at Aldi or Lidl.
IKEA also has good rechargeable batteries if you don't want to wait. There, too, 4 AA batteries cost about 5 francs. You also need a battery charger, which also costs about 20 francs, because the individual batteries can no longer be charged directly in the Garmin.
The Garmin battery pack presses down the small rubber button in the middle between the batteries, which is the only way to charge them in the device. Hobbyists can make their own battery pack with individual batteries, which then presses down this button.
