Yes, it works, but it is hardly possible to operate it without a control panel. There is an app, e.g. for Android (OPPO UDP-20x Media Control), with which you can operate the player very well, without the menu on the TV. You can also use it to play the songs from your mobile phone.
The prerequisite is, of course, that the player and the mobile phone are logged into the same WLAN.
