"UPC converter" sorry but I don't know what you are talking about. I bought this remote to unzone my DVD player. And it works.

I am not familiar with the UPC converter. What I can say is that I don't think this product is part of the default settings of the remote.
However, if you have the UPC remote control, it is quite possible that you can teach the remote control to switch to satellite mode, for example, and teach it the UPC commands.
